The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis to Launch Exhibit Inspired by Disney Junior’s Peabody Award-Winning Series “Doc McStuffins”

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will launch the first-ever museum exhibit based on Disney Junior’s Peabody Award-Winning series for kids 2-7, “Doc McStuffins.” The series depicts a young girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mom and runs a clinic for stuffed animals and toys in her backyard playhouse.

The exhibit will debut at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis (the world’s largest children’s museum) in August 2016 and then travel to other venues across the country through 2019.

Spotlighting Doc’s role as the health and wellness ambassador for young children, the experience will bring the magical storytelling of “Doc McStuffins” to life through hands-on activities for young children and their families that impart life-lessons about health and wellness. Through imaginative play and intergenerational learning, visitors will be transported to a world inspired by Doc’s backyard playhouse clinic; There, they will share the joy of bringing their favorite toys to life as they learn more about staying healthy, caring for others, while problem solving.

“Disney is a world-leader in family entertainment and it is our honor and privilege to work with them to create an extraordinary new exhibit that will encourage families to discuss the importance of health and wellness,” said Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, President and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “Our team of exhibit designers, developers, and interpreters are ecstatic about the opportunity to create fun and imaginative hands-on activities and experiences for families to share surrounding this important topic.”

“Our ‘Doc McStuffins’ stories and characters continue to resonate strongly with young viewers and their parents, providing girls and boys around the world a role model for compassion and good health. We are delighted to be working with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, one of the premier children’s museums in the world, to create a one-of-a-kind museum experience for kids and families and to help extend the themes of the animated series,” said Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior.
