Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso Of Swedish House Mafia Release “ROAR”

Fresh from the spectacular finale to Swedish House Mafia’s final world tour and ahead of their joint Ibiza venture “Departures,” electronic dance music heavyweights Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have created a new track for the soundtrack to Disney-Pixar’s “Monsters University,” which is set for release on June 18th. The new production, “Roar,” is available today and backed by two additional remixes from fellow Swede Style Of Eye and rising London-based producer Yogi.

Challenged with the task of providing the music for a college fraternity house party in the movie, Axwell and Ingrosso have delivered new track “Roar.” With its disco-tinged groove, scuffed riffs and elastic electro bassline, it is as undeniably fun as it is infectious, affirming once again the two artists’ versatility and uncanny knowledge of how to work a dance floor.

“We wanted to keep it funny, funky and at the same time a bit cool with a hint of monsters in it,” said Axwell.

Axwell, or Axel Hedfors , is a heavyweight within the electronic dance music community, a genre that has exploded over the last few years.  As well as being a DJ, Producer, and last year embarking on a world tour with Swedish House Mafia, Axwell has also had the time to win two Swedish Grammys, been nominated for an American Grammy® and has topped charts worldwide with the monster hit “Don’t You Worry Child.”

Fellow Swedish House Mafia member Sebastian Ingrosso has also received international acclaim as a solo DJ, producer and head of the burgeoning Refune Records label. He achieved worldwide success with huge smash “Calling (Lose My Mind)” last year, which also received the honor of being voted ‘Hottest Record of the Year’ by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe , and continues to dominate the Beatport charts.

Style of Eye has been picking up heavy rotation at Radio 1 from international tastemakers Pete Tong and Zane Lowe for his latest collaboration with Tom Staar “After Dark.”  Yogi, whose production prowess is in high demand, has worked with artists such as Wretch 32, Professor Green, Ester Dean and Santigold.

ABOUT “MONSTERS UNIVERSITY”

Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal ) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan , “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman ), a natural-born Scarer.  The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.

Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney-Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music from future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and award-winning composer Randy Newman (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Toy Story 3”).  Rated G by the MPAA, the film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in 3D in select theaters.
