Happy St. Patrick’s Day fellow D-Heads and friends! In the celebration of this festive day sit down with this 1959 Walt Disney classic.

This film stars some great stars of the day from Albert Sharpe, Janet Munro, Sean Connery and Jimmy O’Dea. This film tells the tale of Darby, who is aging and growing too old to complete his job as caretaker of the Lord Fitzpatrick’s estate. Darby, along with his daughter, livei n the gatehouse on the property and have lived their her whole life. It is then that Michael McBride is sent to send Darby on his way along with his daughter Katie. Darby pleads to give him some time to tell her, all the while McBride is falling love with Katie.

Without giving too much of the film away, Darby has some encounters with King Brian, the leader of the little people, and Darby comes up with a plan to capture King Brian so he may be granted three wishes as is custom if a Leprechaun is captured.

The film is a heart-warming tale filled with suspense, Banshee’s, fantasy, music, and a simple tale of making your dreams and wishes come true. So on this St. Patrick’s Day, sit back and enjoy this Disney Classic ‘Darby O’Gill and the Little People.
