I love the atmosphere in this restaurant and it’s one of the best themed most brilliant ideas of any eatery in the parks. When you walk into 50’s Prime Time you are stepping into Mom’s kitchen from era’s gone by. Retro tables and chairs and decade appropriate decor are in each of the “kitchens” where you’ll dine. You may find a black and white TV showing the classics such as “I Married Joan”, “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Mickey Mouse Club”.
In Mom’s kitchen the rules haven’t changed, set the table, keep your elbows off the table and eat all your vegetables. Refuse to follow these rules and you may be surprised…
Although the atmosphere is amazing the food is really the highlight. There is nothing like a home cooked meal and no one does it like 50’s Prime Time. Classic comfort food items fill the menu, look for favorites like meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken and chicken pot pie. Mashed potatoes come with virtually everything and yes, you will get a vegetable (tip: if you don’t like green beans, order corn instead. It’s not advertised on the menu but it is available).
The lunch and dinner menus are the same, so if you want to dine at 50’s Prime Time make your reservation at the 180 day mark, walk-ins are incredibly difficult at this location, especially during busy times such as Star Wars Weekends.
Don’t forget to finish off your dinner in Mom’s kitchen with Dad’s brownie sundae…it’s quite tasty!
