We all love those rare Disney gems that have changed the lives of many. One of those groundbreaking films was the infamous ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit‘. This film starred the talented Bob Hoskins and Charles Fleischer as Roger (Click here is listen to Charles as our guest on DizRadio.com). Together these two worked wonders on screen with this live action and animated comedy. It set a different tone as it was darker, more adult than anything Disney in the past and also included non-Disney characters in the film. Anyways, be sure to go and check out the film ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’.
On a sad note that beloved actor Hoskins passed away at 71 years old last night on April 29th surrounded by his friends and family it has been reported. Bob was at the hospital when he said a big farewell to the world for his final act. He passed away due to complications with pneumonia.
Hoskins had retired from film in 2012 with Snow White and the Huntsman being his last role on the Silver Screen. His decision to say goodbye to acting was in part due to his being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011.
Bob had been part of many fan favorite films from Mermaids with Cher, to playing the beloved Super Mario and of course being a pirate in Hook with Robin Williams.
Bob was a class act actor. He always had a presence on the screen and seemed genuine in his delivery and loveable always as a character actor. He will be missed.
