25th Anniversary Blu-Ray Edition of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the iconic, once-in-a-generation Academy Award® winning film, Touchstone Pictures today released for the first time on Blu-ray™ a special 25th Anniversary Edition of “WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT” with new eye-popping digital restoration.  Originally released in theaters in 1988, the film – a blend of live-action and classic animation – was honored with four Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Visual Effects, and a Special Achievement Award in Animation Direction.

Fans can now look forward to once again enjoying Toontown in this new digitally remastered edition that practically jumps off the screen with its brilliant picture, rich sounds and dangerous curves. Additionally, the Blu-ray Combo Pack comes complete with hours of extra bonus features – including three digitally restored Roger Rabbit Shorts, as well as a mini-documentary, filmmaker audio commentary, deleted scenes, making-of featurettes and more.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Academy Award® Winning Director for Forrest Gump in 1994), “WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT” stars the likes of Bob Hoskins (Hook, Brazil) as Eddie Valiant, Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future trilogy) as Judge Doom, Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead) as Dolores, and features the memorable voice of Charles Fleischer (Back to the Future Part II, A Nightmare on Elm Street) as Roger Rabbit. The film was also supported by an all-star list of producers including Executive Producers Steven Spielberg (Lincoln, Jurassic Park) and Kathleen Kennedy (Lincoln, War Horse), Associate Producers Don Hahn (Frankenweenie, Lion King) and Steve Starkey (Flight, Real Steel) and Producers Frank Marshall (The Bourne Legacy, War Horse) and Robert Watts (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Raiders of the Lost Arc).

Film Synopsis:

It’s 1947 Hollywood and Eddie Valiant ( Bob Hoskins ), a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar, Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger who begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer.
