This new release brings together some of the most popular figures from Disney, videos games, and superhero movies

Believed to stretch back well over a hundred years, the art of pumpkin carving or creating “Jack-o-Lanterns is a time-honored tradition during Halloween. Typically seen as a simple face, the craft has taken on new life in the 21st century and become an art form all its own. Many people around the country put their skills to the test, carving life-like faces of celebrities, recreations of famous paintings, and more.

Taking to the spirit of the holiday season and the haunting atmosphere that comes with Halloween in general, Templatehaven.com is releasing a new set of popular designs to help people carve their pumpkins into a variety of characters.

Templatehaven.com is a proud provider of free Excel templates and wants to give people the opportunity to make their favorite character this year for Halloween. Each spreadsheet in this new release also features a detailed article that shows people how to make the figure using nothing but household items and the printed template.

The spokesman of the company, Mary Flynn, also commented on the company’s delightfully frightful new release.

“We like to think that what sets our site apart is the free-flowing nature and fun spirit of each template. They are colorful and effective. This new release brings together some of the most popular figures from Disney, videos games, and superhero movies and presents them in a way that anyone can use them and create perfect designs in their own Halloween pumpkins.”

The new release features a wide array of both characters and symbols that people can use freely.
People can expect to find popular characters like Frozen’s Elsa, Darth Vader, and even video game characters like Mario will be featured in the pumpkin carving templates. There is also a great selection for football fans as well. Their collection includes a large list of football team logos so people can celebrate their favorite team for Halloween too.

Flynn is excited to see what characters people will choose and how they will turn up. She wanted to assure people that the templates and the guide that comes with them makes it simple for people to achieve great results. Her team has tested the designs to be sure and they had turned out perfectly according to Flynn herself.

The team at Templatehaven.com also welcomes anyone that also just needs a template for their needs as well. Their entire site is free to anyone looking for quality Excel templates for any problem. Flynn and her staff want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween this year and hopes to see what people can do with their pumpkins.

Lexi Walker – Wishes & Dreams EP – Available Now

Portrait Records announces the release of Wishes & Dreams, a 3-song EP available August 12 from Lexi Walker, the 14-year-old YouTube singing sensation. A follow-up to her 2015 holiday album, Merry Christmas, the new EP features a fresh, brilliant take on two Disney classics, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella and “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio. Also featured on the album, coinciding with the 2016 Olympics, Lexi re-energizes “The Power of the Dream,” Celine Dion’s legendary opening ceremony number from the 1996 Games, with her trademark youthful power and sparkle.

“I chose these songs because I felt like they were timeless classics, something everyone can enjoy listening to,” says Lexi. “Disney music is iconic and even though there are countless covers, I wanted to share my version. The lyrics are awesome, and the arrangements by Lisle [Moore], Kendra [Lowe] and Kurt [Bestor] are equally amazing!  I especially enjoyed doing ‘Power of the Dream’ – the music is so powerful, and Celine Dion is one of my favorite artists. Singing any one of these songs makes me feel like wishes and dreams really do come true!”

At two-years-old, Lexi Walker, the dynamic young songbird sang in front of her first crowd.  A decade later, the angelic-voiced redhead from Salt Lake City, Utah signed to Portrait Records.  Lexi starred in a viral video of “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen with Alex Boyé and the One Voice Children’s Choir, which has garnered nearly 80 million views!  She has appeared on America’s Got Talent, Good Morning America, Disney’s Frozen Christmas Celebration and The Queen Latifah Show; and sung with The Piano Guys, Kristin Chenoweth, Lindsey Stirling, David Archuleta, Jenny Oaks Baker, the Lyceum Philharmonic, and the Fairfax Symphony.

To date, Lexi has performed in Las Vegas, Walt Disney World, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and The Kennedy Center at Christmas-time for the Troops, as well as singing the National Anthem at stadiums throughout the U.S.  Overseas, Lexi has done a tour of Japan and performed in China at the Beijing International Film Festival.  For more information visit http://lexiwalker.net.

Disneyland Resort Offers 16 Unforgettable Experiences To Brighten a Spring or Summer Visit in 2016

Disneyland Resort Offers 16 Unforgettable Experiences To Brighten a Spring or Summer Visit in 2016

Spring and summer at the Disneyland Resort will be more thrilling than ever this year with new family vacation fun and spectacular entertainment. Guests continue to discover the excitement of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration and its nighttime spectaculars, plus new and enhanced Star Wars experiences. At Disney California Adventure Park, Cars Land will soon debut its newest attraction, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters.

Guests planning a summer vacation at the Disneyland Resort also will enjoy a new “Frozen” musical, based on the blockbuster Walt Disney Animation Studios film, and the unforgettable, new Soarin’ Around the World attraction. Magic awaits guests of all ages in 2016, including these 16 special experiences.

At Disney California Adventure Park
Disney California Adventure celebrates its 15th anniversary Feb. 8, 2016, with adventures from Buena Vista Street to Cars Land, and something for guests of all ages, including the thrilling California Screamin’ coaster, the uplifting Pixar Play Parade and the high-scoring action of “Toy Story Mania.”

1.  The new live “Frozen” musical premieres in late spring 2016, immersing audiences in the emotional journey of Anna and Elsa with all of the excitement of live theater. The entertaining musical adaptation will include elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects, show-stopping production numbers and some unique theatrical surprises. The show will play at the Hyperion Theater.

2.  The fun-filled Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters attraction, debuting soon at Casa Della Tires in Cars Land, is rolling with fun as Luigi’scugini (cousins) have come from Carsoli, Italy, to help celebrate Race Day in Radiator Springs. Park guests join in the fun by hopping aboard miniature Italian roadsters, in the style of late 1950s micro cars. The cars perform the traditional dances of their village, moving to upbeat music and Luigi’s singing in a precision-choreographed dance across what appears to be a trackless “dance floor.” Each car has its own routine, so guests will enjoy different ride experiences depending on which car they board.

At Disneyland Park
Exciting Star Wars experiences in Disneyland Park celebrate the Star Wars film saga.

3.  Star Wars Launch Bay invites guests to visit a Star Wars-themed cantina, discover authentic replicas of film props, and encounterStar Wars characters such as Chewbacca, from the light side, and Kylo Ren from the dark side.

4.  The Star Wars-themed transformation of Space Mountain into Hyperspace Mountain thrusts guests into an X-wing Starfigher battle as they race through the darkness. The experience is enhanced by a new soundtrack, inspired by the Star Wars films’ musical themes and re-orchestrated to match every move in the attraction.

5.  At the Star Tours – The Adventures Continue attraction, guests encounter a new adventure and characters from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” while journeying aboard a Starspeeder 1000.

6.  Guests will relive stories from the Star Wars saga – or discover them for the first time – through the short “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” film which connects iconic scenes from the iconic films in fun new ways.

7.  The popular interactive show Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple has been reimagined with Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister Inquisitor from the popular Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels.

8.  As preparations begin in 2016 for a new Star Wars-themed land, guests will enjoy unique limited-time opportunities to experience some of their favorite attractions in new ways. While the Disneyland Railroad is temporarily closed, guests at the Main Street and New Orleans Square Train Stations will be able to get up-close with the historic steam engines that have circled Disneyland park for decades and learn about them firsthand from Disneyland Railroad engineers. Limited-time experiences for the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia will debut throughout the year.

9.  Super Hero fans will have their own special encounters at Super Hero HQ. They’re invited to learn more about their favorite Super Heroes, such as Thor and Spiderman, and meet some of them in person.

60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration Continues in 2016
The stunning entertainment found every year at the Disneyland Resort is now even more dazzling, with three nighttime spectaculars that are part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, continuing through Sept. 5, 2016.

10.  The sparkling “Paint the Night” parade builds on the tradition of breathtaking nighttime parades in Disneyland Park that began with the “Main Street Electrical Parade.” Illuminated almost entirely by LED lights, “Paint the Night” is a state-of-the art, vibrant wonder that immerses guests in the magical, luminescent worlds of many Disney and Disney●Pixar characters, including Ariel, the Little Mermaid; Woody and Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story”‘; Lightning McQueen from “Cars,” Disney Princesses and Mickey Mouse and his pals.

11.  The “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular entertains guests from the tips of their toes to the sky high above, surrounding the audience with music, dazzling visual projections and other special effects that bring the pyrotechnics to life in surprising new ways.  Guests may enjoy the projections from multiple locations, including Main Street, U.S.A., and Small World mall.

The Wonderful World of Walt Disneyis a fun-filled version of the popular, nighttime “World of Color” spectacular.  Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris joins Mickey Mouse on a magical water canvas, bringing to life the remarkable story of Walt Disney and The Happiest Place on Earth with animated imagery, live-action film, fountains, lasers, special effects and a stirring musical score.

Code.org, Disney and Star Wars Launch Hour of Code “Build-Your-Own-Game” Tutorial to Broaden Computer Science Participation

Code.org, Disney and Star Wars Launch Hour of Code “Build-Your-Own-Game” Tutorial to Broaden Computer Science Participation

Code.org, Disney and Star Wars Launch Hour of Code “Build-Your-Own-Game” Tutorial to Broaden Computer Science Participation

Today, Code.org unveiled a Star Wars-themed computer science tutorial featuring Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 as well as Rey and BB-8 from the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The online lesson kicks off the third-annual global Hour of Code campaign, in honor of Computer Science Education Week, December 7-13, 2015.

Thanks to Disney and Star Wars, students will learn to write code that allows them to create fun challenges and games using Star Wars characters. Participants will join forces with Rey to guide BB-8 through a space mission, then team up with Princess Leia to build their own game featuring R2-D2 or C-3PO. Students will also be able to play their completed games on smartphones and share them with friends and family through a unique link.

“For generations, Star Wars has sparked kids’ curiosity and imagination, and we hope the appeal of characters like Princess Leia and Rey will help fuel greater participation in science and math, especially among girls, around the world,” said Kathleen Kennedy, President, Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. “Computer science has helped shape our legacy and changed the way movies are made, which is why programs like the Hour of Code are so important to us.”

This is the second year Disney has worked with Code.org on a coding tutorial featuring Disney characters. Last year’s tutorial — which President Obama participated in at the White House for the Hour of Code last December — has been completed more than 13 million times and tapped Anna and Elsa from Walt Disney Animation Studio’s blockbuster film “Frozen.” More than 100 million students across 180 countries have tried an Hour of Code tutorial, including one in three students in US schools, according to Code.org estimates.

Code.org’s new “Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code” lesson for the Hour of Code 2015 aims to nurture creativity and teach logic and problem solving through basic computer programming. There are two versions of the introductory tutorial: one introduces users to the coding language JavaScript for the first time in a Code.org lesson, and lets them create a game in their Internet browser using Code.org’s unique blocks-to-text programming environment. For beginner and younger students, a tablet-friendly drag-and-drop version will be available in the next few weeks. The tutorial will also be translated into more than 40 languages. The tutorial is supported by Star Wars: Force for Change, a philanthropic initiative that harnesses the strength of Star Wars and its global fandom to empower people to come together to make a positive impact on the world around them.

In addition to the lesson, role models and technologists, including Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Rachel Rose, a Senior R&D engineer working on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Charita Carter, Senior Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, have provided short video lectures to help students through the one-hour activity.

“Millions of us have been transported to a galaxy far, far away thanks to the creativity of the team behind Star Wars. Every one of us, especially young boys and girls, should also have the chance to learn how to power our own creativity with computer science,” said Hadi Partovi, co-founder and CEO of Code.org. “Code.org is honored to have the support of Disney and Star Wars on the Hour of Code, making it possible for students everywhere to experience firsthand how this foundational field opens new doors and can be a lot of fun, too.”

“Disney is driven by storytelling and technology—and we know that kids introduced to computer science today will become the innovators and storytellers of tomorrow,” said Jimmy Pitaro, co-Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “We are honored to be working with Code.org again this year to introduce millions of students to coding, which is becoming one of the most important languages of their generation.”

In addition to partnering with Code.org to make the “Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code” tutorial available for free in more than 180 countries, The Walt Disney Company is donating $100,000 to support Code.org’s efforts to bring computer science education to after-school programs throughout the United States. One lucky classroom will win the grand prize – a trip to San Francisco, Calif. for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes “Making of Star Wars” experience with the visual effects team who worked on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The grand prize is courtesy of ILMxLAB, a new laboratory for immersive entertainment, combining the talents of Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound. Sphero, a company that participated in the 2014 Disney Accelerator, will also be gifting programmable BB-8 TM droids to 100 participating classrooms. HP Inc has also donated Star Wars TM Special Edition Notebook devices to 10 participating teachers. And during Computer Science Education Week in December, Disney will host an Hour of Code event for local students at their Los Angeles office, and Disney VoluntEARS will support Hour of Code events around the world.

The “Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code” tutorial is the newest addition to Code.org’s online learning platform, Code Studio, which offers a suite of self-guided computer science activities and courses for students to learn the fundamentals of computer science, starting as early as kindergarten.

At a time when the majority of K-12 schools don’t offer computer science, more than 5 million students have enrolled on Code Studio since its 2014 launch, including 10 percent of all K-8 students in the United States. Additionally, 43 percent of Code Studio students are girls, and 37 percent are black or Hispanic.

This reach is substantial, considering women hold only 23% of computing jobs, just 18% of bachelor’s degrees in computer science are awarded to women, and only 22% of high school AP Computer Science exam takers are girls. Furthermore, only 18% of bachelor’s degrees in computer science are awarded to blacks and Latinos and, at the high school level, 9% of AP Computer Science exam takers are Hispanic, and just 4% are black.

Beyond the Hour of Code, Code.org has partnered with Disney on “Infinity Play Lab,” an environment where students code stories or games starring Disney Infinity versions of Anna and Elsa from “Frozen,” Hiro and Baymax from “Big Hero 6” and Rapunzel of “Tangled.” Code.org has also released Hour of Code tutorials with artwork from Rovio’s Angry Birds, PopCap Games’ Plants vs. Zombies and the acorn-crazed squirrel Scrat from the Twentieth Century Fox animated series “Ice Age.”

Try a preview of the “Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code” tutorial now on Code Studio (http://Code.org/starwars). The experience will also be available on Disney.com soon.

The Disney offerings by Birds Eye feature pastas in the shape of today’s favorite Disney characters including Anna, Elsa, and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen; Lightning McQueen and Mater from Disney-Pixar’s Cars; and classic characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Varieties include: whole grain pasta and corn with a butter sauce, pasta and broccoli with a cheese sauce, pasta and peas with a parmesan cheese sauce, and pasta and carrots with a tomato sauce.

“Encouraging children to eat vegetables everyday is central to our mission at Birds Eye,” said Mike Barkley, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Meals and Sides at Pinnacle Foods. “Through our collaboration with Disney, we are helping parents put quick, nutritious, flavorful meals on the table that their children will love.”

According to the State Of The Plate report, nine out of ten people in the United States do not get enough vegetables.  Birds Eye is striving to move the needle on vegetable consumption among families with convenient and flavorful veggie-filled options for every age group.

“This collaboration with Birds Eye vegetables furthers our Magic of Disney’s Healthy Living Commitment,” said John T. King, Vice President, Licensing Consumables at Disney Consumer Products. “Our hope is that with the help of their favorite Disney characters, families can enjoy nutritious and convenient meal options together.”
