Casual Puzzle Game LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum Reaches 40 Million Downloads Worldwide

LINE Corporation, owner and operator of the free call and messaging app LINE, announced that its casual puzzle game “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum“, available for free on Android and iPhone devices, surpassed 40 million downloads worldwide on February 10.

LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum is a puzzle game that features the popular “Tsum Tsum” series of stuffed toys designed after popular Disney characters.

Since launching in Japan on January 29, 2014, the simple and enjoyable gameplay concept of connecting 3 or more “Tsums” to gain points, as well as the game’s use of charming and adorable Disney characters, has appealed to a wide range of users. Its popularity has led to an English version and releases in 40 countries and regions around the world, centered in the United Kingdom and other European markets as well as Taiwan, Thailand, and other key markets in East Asia.

In addition to the game’s impressive domestic success, Tsum Tsum has captured a significant fan base in the United States, with download numbers and sales figures showing a steady growth trend globally. The app has also performed well in Taiwan, Thailand and other global markets, leading to a new record of 40 million total downloads worldwide on February 10. The game also boasts the number one ranking in Japan and four other countries on Apple’s App Store (Hong Kong, Laos, Taiwan, and Thailand), as well as the top spot in four nations on Google Play.

A special promotion will take place to celebrate reaching the 40 million downloads milestone
