Disney*Pixar’s “Cars 3” Fuels Up For Nationwide Tour

Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 3” is hitting the road this month with Road to the Races, a nationwide tour inviting fans of #95 to gear up for the upcoming big-screen release. Life-size, character look-alikes of five-time Piston-Cup champion Lightning McQueen, tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez and the sleek next-gen racer Jackson Storm will be rolling into 27 cities coast to coast to celebrate the new movie, which opens June 16, 2017.

“We are going to kick off the tour at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World on Thursday, March 23,” said Lylle Breier, senior vice president, worldwide marketing partnerships and special events for the Walt Disney Studios. “There will be fun activities for the whole family—plus a sneak peek of the movie.”

The roster of cities includes Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Denver and Los Angeles, among others—the full list is available at CARS3tour.com. The “Road to the Races” nationwide tour wraps up in California with a visit to NASCAR at Sonoma at the Sonoma Raceway June 24-25, 2017, and the life-size character cars will also roll onto the red carpet for the “Cars 3” world premiere on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

A host of sponsors have signed on to support the tour, which includes a variety of activities.

Fans will be able to catch a sneak peek of the movie in the Cinetransformer Mobile Movie Theater. Visitors will also be able to take photos with the life-size character cars.

In addition, the sports national youth program NASCAR Acceleration Nation will display the science behind NASCAR racing, and elements from the NASCAR Hall of Fame will allow attendees to get up close and personal with the history of NASCAR.  

Mack Trucks, Inc. will transport the life-size character cars on the coast-to-coast tour.

Production is now underway on Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You, a fun, and heartwarming holiday story brought to life in beautifully realized CGI animation. Based on one of the best-selling and most beloved Christmas songs of all time and the children’s book it inspired, the film which features Mariah Carey’s iconic song All I Want for Christmas is You, will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand this holiday season from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Disney Music Group Holds 2 Titles In The Top 5 On The Billboard 200 Chart

Two Disney Music Group soundtracks hold Top 5 positions on the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending March 16.  The Beauty and the Beast soundtrack has entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 3, with 57,000 album equivalents and Moana is No. 5 with 52,000 album equivalents, according to Nielsen Music.

Beauty and the Beast is also No. 1 on Billboard’s Soundtrack and Children’s charts, No. 2 on Overall Digital Albums chart and No. 3 on both Top Current Albums and Overall Physical Sales Billboard charts.  The soundtrack peaked at No. 2 on the iTunes Overall chart and No. 1 on iTunes Soundtrack chart.  The album hit No. 1 on iTunes in 15 countries and is also in the Top 5 overall in 45 countries.  The soundtrack has over 32.9 million streams worldwide on Spotify.  “Belle” is currently No. 1 on Spotify’s global viral chart with 5 other songs in the Top 20.  At Apple Music, “Beauty and the Beast” featuring the Ariana Grande and John Legend duet has over 3.8 million streams worldwide.  The companion music video has garnered over 30 million views.  Additionally, the soundtrack was recorded in 17 different languages and for the first time all localized versions were released in the U.S.

Sixteen weeks after its release, the Moana soundtrack has spent 12 weeks in the Billboard 200’s Top 10, and has been certified gold by the R.I.A.A.   Additional Billboard chart positions include No. 3/Soundtrack, No. 3/Overall Digital Albums and No. 4/Top Current Albums.  As of March 17, the album was No.1 on Amazon’s Best Sellers chart.  Additionally, over 1 million combined digital tracks have been sold to date of both versions of the Oscar-nominated song “How Far I’ll Go,” performed in the film by Auli’i Cravalho and the end credit track performed by Alessia Cara.  The film version has been certified gold by the R.I.A.A.   The music videos have garnered over 500 million views worldwide.  At Spotify, the album has 380 million streams worldwide.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is No. 1 at the global box office with $357.1 million.  In the U.S., the film posted $174.8 million at the box office, and is the 6th largest opening of all time.

Last week, Disney’s Moana crossed the $600 million mark at the global box office. Moana was nominated for two Oscars and two Golden Globes, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“How Far I’ll Go”).

Dole and The Walt Disney Company Help Parents Encourage Healthier Eating through the Magic of Disney Characters and Storytelling

The Walt Disney Company and Dole Food Company continue their multi-year healthy living initiative with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, featuring consumer promotions, digital integrations, in-store activities and Disney-branded fruits and vegetables. The ongoing collaboration serves as part of a nutrition alliance aimed at helping parents encourage their kids and families to make healthier food choices and formally launched last fall with a successful campaign around Disney’s Moana.

The latest promotion, Disney Beauty and the Beast, features Belle, Beast, Lumiere and other beloved characters on DOLE Bananas, Pineapples and salads, and will continue through April 16. These characters also serve as the inspiration for a host of healthy recipes, serving suggestions and nutrition tips.

“Disney and Dole are working together to give parents high-quality, nutritional food options that make it easier for families to make healthy choices,” said John T. King, vice president-licensing, Disney Consumables. “The new program will combine Disney’s characters and stories with Dole’s fruits and vegetables to help inform and inspire families to live healthier.”

Disney and Dole will also debut healthy living programs themed to Disney·Pixar’s Cars 3 this summer and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi later this year. This mission seeks to help change daily eating habits, one meal at a time, to create a lasting impact for families in the U.S. and Canada.

Last year’s dual-branded announcement at the 2016 Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Fresh Summit Convention in October promised the launch of an assortment of fresh DOLE produce featuring iconic Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel characters at grocery and retail stores nationwide.

In 2006, The Walt Disney Company became the first major media company to establish a Nutrition Guideline Policy in North America to associate its brands and characters with a more nutritious portfolio of foods and beverages. The company has since marked every year of its Healthy Living Commitment with significant milestones such as becoming the first major media company to launch food advertising standards for kids, launching new content and experiences that inspire healthier lifestyles, and introducing the Disney Mickey Check. The Disney Mickey Check is a quick and easy way for families to identify healthier food and beverage options in stores, on-air, on-line, at Disney theme parks and resorts, and other places where Disney products are sold. The bathing towels for kids which the company has launched recently can also wipe off the water quickly from the tender skin of the kids, the owners of Fabricexpress.net claimed during a recent press conference. The bathing towels have a soft texture and provide complete care for skin. The gentle-on-the-skin Disney bath towel products now carry illustrations of popular cartoon characters, which are the favorite characters of kids around the world. Dave Fu, a manager of Fabricexpress.net, recently told that they will soon be launching many more new designs for arraying more choices in front of their prospective customers.

Dave Fu, the product manager, was recently interviewed by the press when he said that the Disney themed kids towels are specifically designed for nagging or stubborn kids who hate to take a bath.

“We know kids are moody and they don’t simply like the bathing towels and robes that their parents. Since adult bathing robes have relatively boring designs and color schemes, we decided to launch these creatively designed bathing towels”, he told the press.
