Walt Disney Records’ Big Hero 6 Soundtrack Features Original Song “Immortals” From Fall Out Boy And Score By Henry Jackman

Walt Disney Records' Big Hero 6 Soundtrack Features Original Song "Immortals" From Fall Out Boy

Walt Disney Records’ Big Hero 6 Soundtrack Features Original Song “Immortals” From Fall Out Boy

The Big Hero 6 original motion picture soundtrack will be available at digital retail on November 4 and on CD November 24th and features an original song, “Immortals” from Fall Out Boy. The soundtrack includes score from Henry Jackman (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain Phillips” and “Wreck-It-Ralph”).  Pre-order for the album begins today.

Fall Out Boy was tapped to write and perform the song for the film’s sequence in which the “Big Hero 6″ team is transformed from a group of super smart individuals to a band of high-tech heroes. “The idea of this kid stepping up on behalf of his brother is what inspired the song’s title ‘Immortals,'” says Patrick Stump. “Your victories aren’t exclusively yours, so the fact that all of these people are coming together to help him get to the finish line is really exciting.”

“They’re testing out their new super suits for the first time in the scene,” says Pete Wentz. “Some of it works—some of it doesn’t. You get the sense that they’re stepping into a bigger role. The story’s in the DNA of Fall Out Boy. It is an authentic story and it’s who our band is—we’ve always identified with the underdog.”

Jackman used a 77-piece orchestra and created a score that celebrates the comic-book style action of “Big Hero 6,” the embracing of technology and, of course, the special relationships that are forming. “It’s very important to me in a score like this when there’s a lot of emotional content, as well as heroism and jeopardy and the rest, to allow the musicians to play together. If you can put everyone in a room together, it’s great. They bounce off each other. Music is really the emotion of the movie, beautifully stitching the scenes together,” says director Don Hall. “We wanted a score that was melodic with prominent themes, while pushing technical boundaries with electronica music, too. Henry Jackman was able to weave it all together brilliantly.”

From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind “Frozen” and “Wreck-It-Ralph,” comes “Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.” Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring breathtaking action with all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6″ is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”). The film hits theaters in 3D on Nov. 7, 2014.

The Big Hero 6 soundtrack is set for release at digital retail Nov. 4 and on CD Nov. 24, 2014 and is available for pre-order beginning today.   A special bundle featuring a Baymax 7″ vinyl single, the soundtrack CD and poster is now available for pre-order at Disney Music Emporium: http://smarturl.it/bhsva1.  Watch the video here: http://vevo.ly/5n6uep.

DizRadio Fall Celebration: Magical Music Playlists

The chill in the air can only mean one thing; It’s bonfire season! Whether you’re roasting s’mores by the fire, throwing a Halloween party, or just having a regular old get-together – Nothing will spice up your night like a little Disney music. And, we’ve created three DizRadio exclusive playlists just for you!

Fall Celebration Playlist:
To us, these songs have a pretty distinctly Fall feel. Enjoy this playlist during your morning commute, dinner around the table, or of course, at your own Fall party!
Villains Playlist:
With Halloween just around the corner, we couldn’t resist breaking out all the bad guy songs we could find. From Dr. Facilier’s dark “Friends on the Other Side” and “Darth Vader’s March” to the more lighthearted “Gaston,” we didn’t leave any headstone unturned.
Heroes Playlist:
We’d be remiss to not represent some of our favorite heroes of the bunch, even if it is almost Halloween. From “Zero to Hero” to “Friend Like Me,” pump this upbeat playlist in honor of the good guys.
Enjoy the tunes!

by: D-Team Caitlin

Haunted Mansion Shop - Memento Mori

Haunted Mansion Shop – Memento Mori

Disney has 999 Gift Shops around the world, but in the Magic Kingdom, there’s room for one more… Okay, so maybe that’s stretching it a bit, but we’re just so excited about the new Haunted Mansion-themed merchandise location, Memento Mori, that has finally materialized!

Now open in Liberty Square, Memento Mori is home to everything a Haunted Mansion fan could ever want. Legend has it that once upon a time it even housed Madame Leota. Full of home decor, kitchenware, apparel, stationary, and more, it will be impossible to leave empty handed. Aka, beware of hitch-hiking ghosts!
Things to know:
-There will be a limit of 6 items per style, per guest, per day in the merchandise location.
-Haunted Mansion Dooney & Burke bags will be available in Uptown Jewlers on Main Street, USA, not at Memento Mori.
-Haunted Mansion pins will be available at Memento Mori as well as Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland.
Happy shopping, happy haunts!

Frozen DVD Themed Website Frozen in Arendelle is Officially Launched

Frozen in Arendelle, a website that is devoted to offering shoppers reviews about a variety of products related to the wildly popular Disney movie Frozen, has just launched its new and user-friendly website. In addition to reviews of Frozen party supplies, Frozen in Arendelle features a blog filled with interesting articles about the Frozen DVD and its many wonderful characters.

As kids and adults alike know quite well, Frozen is one of the most beloved Disney movies of all time. Many parents have watched the touching story of sisters Anna and Elsa numerous times with their children, and everyone enjoys the amusing antics and humor of Olaf the friendly snowman.

Many toy manufacturers have been capitalizing on the popularity of the story that was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen” by releasing a variety of Frozen dolls, dresses, and much more. Unfortunately, not all of the merchandise is high quality, which leads to disappointed kids and parents.

This is where Frozen in Arendelle can help—by offering reviews on scores of Frozen-themed products, parents can rest assured that they are spending their hard-earned money on the Frozen toys and other items.

Using the Frozen in Arendelle website is easy; visitors to the site just need to click on the “Magical World of Frozen Comparison Guide” tab at the top of the home page to bring up a list of product categories, including Frozen dolls, toys, cookie cutters and stationery. For example, clicking on “Frozen party supplies” brings visitors to a new page with a list of currently available items along with their prices and descriptions. This feature allows parents and other people who wish to buy Frozen-themed items to save valuable time by comparing and contrasting the products in one convenient spot.

Anybody who would like to learn more about Frozen in Arendelle is welcome to visit the new and easy-to-navigate website; there, they can browse through the helpful reviews and read interesting articles about the movie.

Heroes Wanted! XPRIZE is Launching a Video Contest for 8- to 17-Year-Olds to Form the Real-Life “Big Hero 6”

Heros Wanted for Xprize Video Contest

Heros Wanted for Xprize Video Contest

XPRIZE has joined forces with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Disney Corporate Citizenship for today’s launch of a nationwide video contest designed to find the real-life counterparts to the animated heroes that will soon burst onto the big screen in “BIG HERO 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure from Disney opening November 7, 2014.

The DISNEY BIG HERO 6 – XPRIZE CHALLENGE invites young people between the ages of 8 and 17 to harness their creativity and come up with innovative ideas to tackle the world’s biggest challenges using science, technology, engineering, art and/or mathematics.

The six winners, the real-life “Big Hero 6,” will travel to Los Angeles to walk the red carpet at the film’s Hollywood premiere in early November, go behind the scenes and meet the creative minds at both Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering, join a special “Visioneering™” experience at XPRIZE headquarters, plus other prizes.

Video Submissions will be judged on innovation, creativity and presentation. Twenty (20) finalists will be selected based on the highest scores resulting from preliminary scoring by XPRIZE judges. In mid October, a panel of luminary S.T.E.A.M. expert judges will evaluate the twenty finalists’ submissions and six (6) winners will be selected through a combination of the expert judges’ scores and public voting results.

Said Walt Disney Animation Studios President Ed Catmull, “We are thrilled to work with XPRIZE to find real-life young heroes whose desire is to tackle the world’s great challenges. It’s an honor for all of us at Walt Disney Animation Studios to welcome them at our Studio and at the premiere of “Big Hero 6.”

“The young people who win this contest will be real-world heroes, ready and willing to tackle some of the greatest challenges facing our world today,” said Trish Halamandaris, senior vice president marketing & communications at XPRIZE. “The XPRIZE Foundation is excited to be conducting this competition that challenges young people to be bold, creative and smart, and to dare to think big. We believe that solutions to the problems facing humanity can come from anyone, anywhere, and one of these kids just might come up with an idea that can truly change the world.”

In addition to the trip to Los Angeles, the six winners will receive reimbursement for one (1) Contestant registration for FIRST® LEGO® League for the competition season 2014-2015 in the US or Canada, and a Special littleBits® NASA Space Kit and cloudBit™ Starter Kit.

The contest is open for submissions from September 17, 2014, to October 12, 2014.

Participating kids will compete in two divisions: Junior Division (8-12 years of age), and Senior Division (13–17 years of age). All entrants must have prior consent from their parent or legal guardian in order to participate in the challenge. Registration details are available at xprizechallenge.org/bighero6.

The video submissions may involve a short story, sculpture, drawing, model, robot or whatever method best communicates the idea in the most creative way (please see Official Rules for further details, restrictions and limitations). They will be scored on how well they explain the problem, show their solution, and explain what they learned and the impact their idea would have on themselves and the world. The more creative and engaging their presentation is, the better their chance of winning.

Supporting XPRIZE Partners include FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), littleBits Electronics and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
